If I have a door that has a Fire-rated lockset, does that mean the door itself is automatically Fire-rated?
No, even with fire-rated hardware (most commercial locksets are UL-rated), the door itself needs to have a metal UL or Wernick Hersey Fire Label (45 min./ 90 min/ 3 Hr.) attached to it, in order to be officially rated. Any door without a metal fire label will not pass a fire inspection.
