Question:

I have a customer with an existing access control system that would like to start using Mobile credentials. I don’t know where to begin. Can you please advise me the direction to go?

 

Answer:

You will need to determine the exact part number of the reader to see if the reader is Mobile enabled. If the reader is not Mobile enabled, you will need replace the customers readers, or you can purchase a device that wires in to the existing reader that will make the reader Mobile enabled.

Depending on the manufacture of the reader or if you add the Mobile device to the reader, will determine how much the customer will pay for the credentials and if the credential can be reused or if the credential is a one-time use.

There are several companies that offer Mobile readers and credentials, and each one has different offerings. Make sure to discuss what the customer is expecting so that you can provide them with the option that best fits their expectations.
