Ask the Experts | Ask the Electronic Access Ace | Access Control in a Network

We have a commercial account that has their network throughout their building. Now they want to add access control to a few doors and utilize their network. What do you suggest for access control with a network?

There are several solutions that will eliminate most of the wiring for you. For example, Infinias offers an ethernet-enabled door controller that also carries both data and power (Power over Ethernet, PoE) for the controller and the peripheral door hardware. It’s a very simple web-based software. Locate the controller at each door and wire the strike and reader only from the local controller to termination.

Other solutions are available, contact your local IDN Branch, or send us a question.
