Question:
I have installed several steel doors at a facility for troubled youth. Unfortunately, the doors are not holding up to the abuse the doors receive. Any solution for a more durable steel door that would last longer?

Answer:
Installing a 16 Gauge Steel Stiffened door would provide added durability and security. If you need light kits, an all metal with 3/8” clear tempered glass and high security “torx” fasteners would help dissuade removal of screws / door lights. If you need privacy on the glass, a frosted glass option would be suggested. In addition, we recommend installing these with a heavy duty continuous hinge. Every application requires additional questions to find the right fit for the door opening, and also to factor in building codes.
