We have a large commercial customer with existing access control. They have acquired several additional buildings and would like access control on the perimeter doors, but do not have the budget to hardwire the additional doors into their existing system. What economical stand-alone system do you recommend?
After our conversation on the phone, I understand you have a variety of mortise and cylindrical locks on the doors in question, plus a few exit devices. A possible solution could be the Assa Abloy and Mul-T-Lock CLIQ systems. Access control is in the cylinder itself. Just remove the cylinder and replace it with the CLIQ. If the existing hardware is in good working condition, there is no need to replace it. You will still need to go to the door for audits, but the programming and power for the lock is in the key.
