How do you properly hand a door?

Doors should always be handed from the secure side or outside of the opening. For example, a typical office or storage room where the door swings into the room. This opening could either swing into the left or right when standing on the outside of the room, which would be represented as LH or RH. If the door were to swing out of the room when standing outside it would be a reverse handing and represented as LHR (hinges on the left and swings out) or RHR (hinges on the right and swings out). Doors with exit devices will always have a reverse handing as the secure side will always be the pull side of the door.
