Question:
A customer came in to the shop with a key for a wood chipper with a code of 1000 and the name “Knapheide” on it. Another customer came in with a key for a utility vehicle with the code 1000 on it and the name “Knapheide” on the rubber head. What double sided key blank does it use?
Answer:
Knapheide has been around since 1848. They manufacturer different utility bodies to go on the back of trucks. They have used the Illinois 260 single sided and the Strattec 322861 double sided blank. This is a new blank and I am told that the Ilco KA15/X106 works after modifying the blank by cutting back the shoulders. If I find a better blank, I’ll let you know.
